Friday, February 27 2026, 12 - 5:30pm Zell Miller Learning Center Student Symposium The Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies is pleased to announce a call for papers for the 2026 Women’s and Gender Studies Student Research Symposium, “Feminist Research Across the Disciplines,” to be held Friday, February 27, 2026, on the UGA campus. The annual Student Research Symposium is designed to foster research in women’s and gender studies at the graduate and undergraduate levels. We invite papers and presentations on the following themes: transnational and multicultural feminisms • representations of gender in popular culture, media, literature, the arts, or history • intersections of gender with identity categories including race, class, sexuality, age, ability • women and the state (welfare, public policy, activism, politics, the law) • environment, science and technology • feminist studies—as epistemology and pedagogy • bodies, health, reproductive justice and politics • religion and spirituality • feminist autobiographical and/or creative expressions We encourage research from all disciplines. Both graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit abstracts. All interested students please submit individual abstracts or complete panel abstracts electronically to wmstsymposium2026@gmail.com. Each submission must include: An email sent to wmstsymposium2026@gmail.com with “WGS Symposium Abstract Submission” in the subject field. In the body of the email include: the author’s name email address title of the paper/s classification (undergraduate/graduate) major institution any audio-visual requirements A Word or PDF attachment that contains ONLY the title of the paper and an abstract of no more than 250 words.
